Rwandan Coffee Growers

The farmers we visited grow coffee served at our local train station cafe here in Waterbury, Vermont.

Rusty Angell and the Bunn Trifecta

Our friend Rusty from Bunn takes a moment to discuss the Bunn Trifecta, a brilliant new by-the-cup brewing device that automates a lot of the finicky manual-brew techniques to craft complex, reproducible cups every time.

Samuel Lewontin World Bean

Showing off some serious skills by creating a yogurt/milk based foam which compliments his Papa New Guinea Espresso (Counter Culture).

An intro to the 5th Bar Cafe

5th Bar Cafe is the exclusively Dallis Bros-branded cafe located in the entrance to the event. All coffees are brewed in either a slow-brew method or on a beautifully-crafted lever espresso machine from Nuova Simonelli.

NERBC and Brewer’s Cup

“The best and brightest battle for that top spot!”

The prize fight, the main attraction, the feature presentation!    Hosted by the crew at Dallis Bros. Coffee, this year’s NERBC is staged to present one of the single greatest meetings of spro-slingers this side of 2010!

This is the day your local macchiato maestro has been tirelessly preparing for these past few months.  This is why your cappuccino foam is now more silk than dairy, and why your daily doppio has been served with everything from wood-steeped orange honey to puffs of bacon-flavored foam.

The NERBC is the ultimate showcase of barista skills, pitting competitors against each other, their coffee and time itself!   The barista’s are given 15 minutes with which to wow judges with their mastery of the product and their tools.   In this time, they must present to the judges three flights of coffees including espressos, cappuccinos and a signature beverage of the barista’s creation.
